Our team has as its main objective the recognition of genetic and epigenetic biomarkers associated with bone phenotypes. On the one hand, we look for the recognition of genes and polymorphism related to a bone mineral density or a fragility bone fracture, trying to make a functional characterizing of the related genetic variants. We obtain the candidate genes from different translational strategics taking place at the laboratory like the ovariectomized rat model of osteoporosis or cellular models like primary osteoblasts obtained by bone explants. On the other hand, we also intend to identify miRNAs as biomarkers of fragility fracture and osteoarthritis.
