Research Group on Renal Disease
Cardiovascular Area
The main scientific objectives of the group focus on research in chronic kidney disease.
First, maintaining the clinical trials unit, which allows us to evaluate new drugs in Nephrology and participate in multicenter working groups while also contributing to the group’s funding.
Continuing with independent research projects to assess their potential nephroprotective role.
The group’s research lines are based on: detection of chronic kidney disease in individuals with risk factors, laboratory work and big data analysis, measurement of kidney function in individuals with obesity and in oncology patients (therapeutic optimization of chemotherapy), and monitoring of cytomegalovirus infection parameters in kidney transplantation (therapy guided by real-time monitoring systems).
