The accreditation ISO 9001:2015 certifies that it has a quality management system for research projects and research training for professionals.
The Anesthesia Research Group comprises researchers working in the Service of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation, and Pain Therapy (SARTD) at the University Clinical Hospital of Valencia. The management system was accredited with a quality seal in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, issued by AENOR, and was obtained after evaluation by several external audits. The certification endorses the commitment of professionals to offer the highest quality standards, both in the processes of quality care and in the management of research projects and training for professionals.
Research is key to the advancement of the specialty. Over the past few years the group has organized numerous courses and conferences aimed at the Anesthesiology service medical staff, other services, and research groups in general, which provide knowledge of the methodological and ethical bases of research and cover the training needs for designing and executing research projects, thus promoting a scientific culture among health personnel.
As part of the hospital research structure, the Anesthesia research group is integrated into INCLIVA’s prioritized research lines, where it is involved in various research projects ranging from basic sciences to more applied clinical studies, all aimed at improving patient healthcare provision. Of note are studies aimed at reducing postoperative complications and hospital stays and improvements in oxygenation and mechanical ventilation.
In 2016, the Anesthesia Research Group published 27 scientific articles indexed in national and international journals. It currently participates in more than 30 research projects ranging from clinical trials, research studies, and international multicenter studies.
