El Dr. Ignacio Torres es Licenciado en Farmacia por la Universidad de Valencia (2013) y realizó la formación especializada en Microbiología y Parasitología (2015-2019) en el Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia. En 2022 obtuvo el título de Doctor en Medicina con una calificación sobresaliente Cum Laude por la Universidad de Valencia.

Comenzó su carrera investigadora en el Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia tras la obtención de una beca Río Hortega (2021-2023) formando parte del Grupo de Investigación en Microbiología Molecular y Patogénesis Microbiana liderado por el Prof. David Navarro. Ha colaborado activamente en diferentes vías de investigación que abarcan desde el estudio de Citomegalovirus y Torque Teno Virus en el trasplante alogénico de precursores hematopoyéticos y la infección por SARS, hasta la optimización de la espectrometría de masas MALDI-TOF en el ámbito hospitalario. Fruto de ello ha sido la publicación de más de 50 artículos en revistas internacionales de alto impacto y haber formado parte del equipo investigador en un proyecto competitivo financiado por el Instituto de Salud Carlos III. Actualmente disfruta de un contrato de incorporación Joan Rodés.

Adicionalmente, también ha trabajado como asesor microbiológico para la empresa Igenomix y como microbiólogo adjunto en el Hospital Marina Salud de Denia.
